Pen Knives, Folding Knives & Heart Attacks

The world of self defense products is growing in popularity and in variety of merchandise that is offered. Some great self defense product websites have sprung up on the internet, and they don’t just sell stun guns and pepper sprays, they also have a broad range of other items, from alarms, to cameras, to dog repellents, electronic or otherwise. Some of these sites also feature a variety of knives.

There are of course the knives that are folding, such as a pocket knife and there are so many varieties, shapes, and sizes out there that it can boggle the mind. Some people have extensive knife collections since there are so many thousands of styles in existence. You can easily carry a knife that when closed is 4” to 5” and when it is opened is between 8” and 9” in length. Then there are those that do not fold, but rather come with a sheath.

Another alternative is the pen knife, which looks like a fancy writing instrument, however when the cap is pulled off, the other end exposes a blade, that can be very handy for certain little chores or even for self defense, or even to scare off a potential assailant.
Pen knives are very compact and easy to carry in a pocket or purse, and will certainly catch someone off guard. Pity the fool who attempts to mess with a gal that has a pen knife in her purse and who is not afraid to use it to preserve her safety.

The Heart Attack is a blade made of extremely hard and durable plastic and it is formed in the shape of a heart with a portion of it that can be held inside your clenched fist, so that the heart shaped blade is protruding between two of your fingers. This way, if someone attempts to attack you, simply punch them with this item and they will certainly have a bad day after that strike.

While you’re shopping there, you may want to consider some items for gift giving to your loved ones. Life is precious and you sometimes have to protect it.

REASONS TO CARRY A PEPPER SPRAY OR STUN GUN

Personal Protection in a Compact lipstick case

These are not in any particular order, however, there are several reasons why people should have some sort of protection with them, and I am assuming that many people do not own or carry a handgun.

There are more petty thefts and crimes because of the bad economy and some people are merely trying to steal a wallet or purse, without harming anybody. Why let them get your wallet though? It is a PAIN to replace your driver’s license, no matter where you live!

When a person, especially a woman, is walking alone, she is often a target for a crime such as a wallet snatching or even worse! Don’t BE a victim; defend yourself from the punks of this world!

Some people go jogging or walking a dog after dark, and let’s face it…there is always more crime after the sun sets. It is easier to hide, not be seen clearly, not be identified, and the crooks like the nighttime.

Whenever you go near a bank ATM whether during the day or night, there is always the chance that a thug will pop out and try to grab your cash and run. Why should HE get to have your hard earned money? Spray the living daylights out of him, and it will also teach him a lesson.

IF more Americans would carry one of these two great self defense items, you would hear more stories in the news about a citizen thwarting the near attack, and then as more of these stories would arise, crime would slowly start to decrease. IF you were a criminal, or someone contemplating it, would you be a bit apprehensive about getting shocked with 500,000 volts of electricity? It hurts!

Sometimes when driving, a car breaks down, and sometimes at night and/or on a desolate road. Wouldn’t it be nice to have some personal protection with you in the car until help arrives?

You could be driving and be stopped at a stop light at an intersection in an area where you don’t normally get out of the car, and a thug could walk up and tap the window, break the window, or reach through the open window, but if you have a stun gun and give him a “what for!” he won’t be able to do anything but just fall down and lie there for a few minutes. Meanwhile, when the light turns green, YOU will be getting the heck out of there.

You might have a loved one or friend walk into a convenience store while you wait in the car, and when they come out someone approaches them with bad intentions on their mind. Well, you can hop out of the car, run over, and change his mind for him! Wouldn’t that be interesting?

You never know when you could be walking and come upon a situation where someone else, as in a perfect stranger, needs assistance. IF you saw a couple of teenage hoodlums trying to rob an elderly lady, wouldn’t you like to pepper spray the snot out of them? It would be fun, and YOU would be the hero!

Many people don’t have personal protection items at their disposal but more and more people are beginning to obtain and carry them, and the time has come for you to do the same! Life is good, and it is precious, and sometimes needs to be protected!

Many people use the word TASER as though it were a name of a thing, and it is a name, in fact it’s a registered trademark name. The name refers to a device, which is battery operated, and is often confused with a stun gun. To clarify the difference, a stun gun is also a battery operated device, that will deliver anywhere from 100,000 volts to a million volts, and sometimes more, depending on the model, directly into the body of the “would be” attacker. The phrase “would be” attacker is used because, after getting stunned by a stun gun, he will no longer be able to continue the attack. In fact, he will drop to the ground like a sack of potatoes, and won’t be able to do much of anything for at least 20 or 30 minutes.

Now a TASER is an item that almost looks curved, like a gun, but without a trigger. When you fire it at someone, two small dart-like probes will be deployed, and they are connected to the device by wires. The unit features a cartridge of compressed nitrogen, which will cause the two probes to fly out fast and forcefully. The probes will enter the clothing and touch the skin surface and 50,000 voltsTaser will travel through the wires and into the assailant’s body, which will have incredible take down power!

The TASER probes will travel up to fifteen feet, and when they are deployed the cartridge also releases 20-30 tiny paper tags with a serial number on them, which is part of the anti-felon identification system. Law enforcement can retrieve some of the confetti from the scene and contact TASER international to get the owner’s name of that particular device, and make sure of no misuse. Anyone with a felony on the record cannot own or operate a TASER device, it is against the law.

These self defense items are very powerful, and are only to be used in matters of self defense of an extreme nature. They range in price from around $349 to as much as $500 or $600 depending on model and features. Stun guns, which also have an enormous amount of take-down power, can range from $25 to $100, again, depending on the model and the strength. So, whatever your needs are, the important thing is to find the item of self defense that is best for you, and get one as soon as possible, just in case you ever need it, and hopefully you never will need it, but no one knows for sure.
