“Band of Brothers” Sadly A Great American has Died Major Dick Winters

The invasion of Normandy on D-day will never be forgotten nor will a great leader.

His legend will truly live in the homes of many forever. Thank you for your service and dedication to our country, As you watch the Mini Series you are overwhelmed by the allegiance the brothers had for each other. I think one of the most heartfelt educational movies ever made. You become a part of the movie, as the extraordinary men of World War II ,they engulf you into the world they lived in to protect and give us the freedom we have today.

As many of us will look at the Hero’s of 911 we fail to forget many hero’s before. Every family should watch this movie and learn the unbelievable strength and courage of our young men and women who did not ask for anything in return, so we as Americans have the freedom we have today.

In the world we live in today it hard to find someone who believes in his country forsaking all others. If you have ever watched the HBO Special “Band Of Brothers” the extraordinary Hero’s of World War II

It is said that Dick Winters was a very private man, who asked that his death not be announced until after his funeral. His grandson asked him, “Gram pa, are you a hero?”

“No,” Winters replied, “but I served in the company of heroes.”

Major Richard Winters was a more then a hero to the man he served with him in Company C

How do we ever begin to thank a whole generation for our safety. Truly a leader of his own with the respect to the men in Easy Company , and anyone who walked in his path. He allowed us to enter a world some of us have never known, all while being engulfed with the extraordinarily bond that our generation will never know. Thank you to Major Winters and all the men who allowed me to walk down the street without fear.
May you rest in peace ( A Job Well Done)

Texas Homeowner really know how to Protect the family they Love

Someone tell me why would anyone would what to fool around with a family in Texas knowing that they carry Guns. Unlike most states they can carry a gun and you don’t want to piss them off.

As this man was thinking of his family and their safety. Not really expecting to use the gun.

But when three men approached him outside in his own driveway they left him no choice but to Protect his family in anyway he could. As of Tuesday the three man were still not found. I guess the only thing that would have made this a great ending is if the homeowner had a Hidden Camera on his driveway.

Some people would prefer to use a Gun then a pepper spray which would cause more damage unless you have taken the time to understand the use of this kind of weapon. No matter what kind of safety weapon you choose to use always educate yourself before you buy.

Your Personal Safety How to Handling Bogus Phone Calls

They may say that their car has broken down and they need to phone someone for help. They may pretend to be a workman, saying that they need to check your electricity or water. They might even claim to be from the council and that they are carrying out a local survey. Whatever reason a caller gives, you need to be sure that they aren’t just trying to get into your home to steal something.

There are around 12,000 incidents of “distraction burglary” each year, where callers get into homes and then steal cash or valuables while the occupier is distracted in some way. Sometimes they work in pairs, with one doing the talking while the other is stealing and they often target the elderly.

Be on your guard every time the doorbell rings, or there’s a knock at your door. Look out of your window to see who’s there first and if you don’t know who the person is, open the window slightly and talk to them that way, rather than opening your door. Alternatively, have a viewer fitted in your front door so that you can take a good look at who’s there first. If your eyesight isn’t so good, don’t worry as you can now get wide-angle viewers to help you see better.

Put the door chain or door bar on before opening the door and talk through the gap. You could even fit a small mirror to the wall next to the door so that you can easily see the person you are talking to. When the caller has left and you’ve closed the door, don’t forget to unhook the chain so that any friend or relative you have given a key to can still get in.

Make sure your back door is locked if someone knocks at your front door. Sometimes thieves work together with one coming in the back way, while the other keeps you talking at the front.

Keeping the chain on the door, ask callers from the council or any other organization to pass through some identification. If you need your glasses to check this don’t think it’s rude to close the door and go and get them. A genuine caller won’t mind. If you’re still not sure, ask the caller to leave and tell them to write and make an appointment so that someone else can be with you the next time they call.

Prepare your loved ones in advance, The basic rule is if you don’t know the person at your door don’t let them in. Keep your Pepper Spray where you can get to it at all times.

Personal Safety While Traveling

When you travel, you’re out of your element and sometimes bombarded with decisions, distractions and new people. I think many women consider their safety if they fly across the country on a business trip because we have many safety reminders at the airport and even from work. But when we drive across the state to visit family, we may not be thinking we’re in any danger. My point is that you should take safety precautions on any trip, including short ones. (Remember that many crimes occur close to home. Maybe someone knows you come home from a business trip late at night every Friday night.) Trips should be fun and relaxing and can stay that way with some planning and education.

Here’s a few points to consider. When visiting other cities, you probably won’t know the high crime areas. Sometimes people who appear as if they want to help with directions or chat with you might be trying to lure you away from safety.

The solution? Plan your route ahead of time and stick with main routes. Keep maps available for places you’re going. If possible, travel with other people. Traveling with a partner or friend can make a trip more fun, and it will make you much safer. Criminals will look for easy targets, such as a woman alone. There are resources online and in the news that reveal how criminals spot their victims. It is much easier to assault a woman who is by herself. Criminals also look for a woman in a skirt. Why? If they want to steal your purse, they can push you over, and you’re likely to grab your skirt to keep it in place, dropping your purse. Some criminals have even admitted to looking for woman with long hair they can grab. (They might also use your scarf or necklace.)
