One of the top Security to your own home are the windows on the first floor. Many elderly people would rather walk up a flight of stairs then to keep their windows closed.

I recently spent some time talking to mostly women over 65 who live alone and are on the second floor. The Number one answer was that they feel safer and want to open their windows.

I just can’t understand how they would want to walk upstairs with grocery or packages everyday. Two of the women told me that their kids were not happy when they bought the place for the fear of getting older and not being able to get up the stairs.

I did ask them if they ever thought that someone would come in on the second floor and all but 2 said no.
