Self Defense-What Self Defense Product do you carry with You

Filed under: Affordable Self Defense Products — Donna @ 10:14 am

Pepper SpraySelf Defense Product have been around for some time now but the question is do you carry the item with you. Some people buy and item when something happen but after a while they don’t use it or even have it with them.

So I asked the question What is your best Personal Self Defense item and do you carry it with you.

Here are some of the answers,

My street smarts. Born and raised in the Bronx. I am no pushover.
Beaware of your surroundings.
Walk with a purpose, but not to close to the buildings.
Look forward but keep your eyes moving.
If what’s ahead gives you the willies then change directions.
park under a light. Have keys in hand making sure one key, with sharp point is facing outward. Great weapon.
Stomp on instep and knee into crotch.

Besides some basic martial arts training I received in the forces,I carry a 600,000 volt stun gun and military grade pepper spray. These items are illegal in Canada so I reserve them for true life or death situations such as if the assailant is armed.Your life is precious and you only get one so do what you have to do.

poop on a stick– no one wants to touch poop or even get near it– just walk with the stick outstretched and poop on the end of the stick away from your body– point it anyway and people scatter

(i don’t carry any type of self defense item with me– i have a couple guns at home, but i have a quick temper, so its safer to leave them put)

My brain,I use it to avoid those situations or to escape them. Then next,my legs,i don’t think there is any shame in running away from a possible injurious situation, there are to many psycho’s out there with knives and one king hit can kill a person,I don’t want to die or have a death on my conscience.
Failing all of that,my fists which I would use to pummel in the head of my attacker (well he started it)

The best weapon one can carry is the mind. With a good sharp mind one can defeat armies. But it doesn’t hurt to have a big stick handy at times. Still my mind is my best weapon.

my vocal cords I did use them when I was a teen and a man tried to drag me into a dark corner behind a bunch of stores. I let out a blood-curdling scream, he let go and I ran.

awareness, preparation, sobriety, and quick thinking to name a few…

mace, haven’t used it yet.

my keys which i can use has brace knuckles to make it hurt more , and i havent used it yet besides opening my home door

This is just some of the answers. Please leave your own in the comment box

Do You Really Need Protection. Eight Affordable Self Defense Products that could Safe your life and how to use them.

Filed under: My Articles, Affordable Self Defense Products — Donna @ 5:51 am

Do you live alone? Do you feel safe coming home at night? Do you feel safe leaving work at night when no one is around? Is your child in Collage and are you sure she is safe?
If you answered yes to any of the question you may want to read this.
In today’s world we have no choice but to think about what we would do if someone were to attack you. Don’t wait for this to happen. The demand for everything from Hidden Cameras to Stun guns is unbelievable. Are you sure you want to use them, how do they work. Don’t Panic: Use common sense.
If you live in a big city most of us are aware of things around us. Remember when you went to visit someone in a small town. They left their doors open and keys in the car. They would say (Things like that don’t happen around here). I don’t think their are too many places you can go today that they do that any more.
Do you ever think of what you would do if someone were to come up behind you while you were walking to your car late at night? If you just unlocked your door and were thinking of 100 other things, as we all do. At that point it is a great idea to hit the panic button on your car but are you sure you know how to use it.
So Today when you leave for work check out the panic button on your car and set it off its ok the neighbors know it happens all the time. But people do look and if that is all you have use it. If it is really late I hit the alarm just for fun in case someone is around my car, and make sure it still work.
Now that you know that lets see what else we have to use in case.
Your keys are in your hand use them and anything else you have.
I just read a story about someone puts a paper on your back window, did you get that in your email, when you go to back up it is in you view so you have to get out and remove it, when you do you leave your door open and they get in your car and drive away. I would be ok but, what if you had a child in the car.
Take time to think of where you go. How safe you would feel if you had to use a Stun Gun, some people are afraid, but you need to review all the items to make your choice and see if you will use it if you had too.
Here is a list of Self Defense products and how to use them and the cost
1. Heart Attack- This is a product that goes on your key chain held in your hands made of heavy plastic. You hold it between your fingers so you have more strength and Punch. 3.5 inches long Cost around five dollars
2. Cell Phone Stun Guns- this item is as easy as talking on the phone, but it is a Stun Gun. So no one will know but you and you look like everyone else talking on the phone the difference is if you were to be attached you have a Stun gun. Cost around $ 79.00
3. Personal Alarms- Most of us have an alarm on our car, but what if you are not going to you car. You need to think if you where walking into a friends house late at night. If you had a personal alarm that come in all kinds of styles you could set it off if you did not feel safe. Some are flashlights, others are whistle. What ever you are comfortable using Cost $$9.95 to $25.00
4. Pepper Spray Ring- This is my personal favorite. This is a beautiful ring you were on your index finger. It has a safety latch. So all you do is press the safety guard down and spray. If the attacker had his hands around your neck from behind you could just spray him in the face. Cost $30.00
5. Lipstick Pepper Spray- This is another one of my favorites. It looks like a lipstick but if you are on a date and do not feel safe, all you have to do is take out your lipstick. Compacted take the cover off and spray. Cost is about 8.95
6. Pen Knives- This looks like a pen but when opened a 2.13 blade is inside. cost around $6.00
7. Spy Glasses- feel like someone is following you. Next time you don’t even have to turn around. Allows you to see ahead of you with a special coating, while you see what is going on behind you. Cost around $10.00
8. Hot Walkers- This is another one of my favorites 1 pound weights with a built in Pepper spray. Walking alone is sometimes scary you have your ipod on and you never see what is going on. Don’t be afraid walk with the hot walkers. Cost around $20.00.

Now that you have an idea of some of the products. Think about the outcome if you did carry them would you use it if you had too. Your life would change forever. If you spoke to any women who has been raped or attached they would tell you they wish they had something to protect themselves. Protection for you and your loved ones is one of the most important jobs we have as women.
