Question I’m off on a business trip to the big city next week. I want to explore whenever I get a free minute. They have a transit system, lots of museums, wonderful restaurants and great shopping. I’ll have a car but don’t like driving in heavy traffic. Any safety tips from other solo women travelers?

As a federal employee I did business travel to interesting cities before I retired. After hours and on weekends often did lots of sightseeing and exploring on my own. Be aware of your surroundings at all times; do daytime activities; avoid desolate areas; take taxis or public transportation; always know where you are going to avoid getting lost in a bad area. If you are arriving late have the valet park your car so you are not caught alone in the parking lot. Enjoy it as much as I did!
keep your purse zipped. dont wear anything too sexy. make sure your always in a big group of people and you’ll be fine
Dress casually, leaving all jewellery and expensive things in the hotel, or at home.
