Invasion on Pearl Harbor, Dec. 7, 1941. 70th Anniversary

Pearl Harbor Day, December 7th, 1941, started as idyllic Sunday in Hawaii in which the winter season is far kinder in comparison with most of the America. on the other hand in Washington it had been clear and cold. The majority of the American population is too young to have been around at the time, in 1941.

The attack came as a powerful shock to the American people and led instantly to the American entry into World War II in both the Pacific and European theaters . On Sunday morning, December 7, 1941, the American Army and Navy base in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii was attacked by the Imperial Japanese Navy.

The actual day following the attack, the United States proclaimed combat on Japan and therefore moved into The Second World War.

The sunken battleship lies as a symbol regarding the attack against the United States, located in the water under the memorial building, where visitors may possibly view it from the memorial’s airy observing location above.

Many movies have been made to give us a better feel for the men and women that went above and beyond for our wonderful country. Take some time out of your day and remember the sacafice they made for you and I to enjoy what we so take for granted.

And a very big thanks to all the men and women and their familys that have given me the freedom to enjoy my life as I know it.

December 7 was a day my father would never let us forget. He would call us ever year and say do you know what happened today many years ago. Sadly my father is not her to call me but I will never forget
