How to Prevent Car Theft with Plain Old Common Sense Tips
If you have ever had your car stolen you know what a disaster it can turn out to be, unless your like my sister when someone took her 1973 Vega she was so happy but sadly they didn’t even what that for parts it was returned in tip top shape, Now that doesn’t ever happen unless you own a Chevrolet Vega.
When my Grand Prix was stolen the cops told me to look for a new car because it was a hot car for parts at the time. Another time the cop said your truck is in Mexico by now. If you own a top selling car beware of the Hot car now is a Toyota’ Prius or a Honda. Many times they will steal just the airbags (they sell well on the black market). Thieves are willing to go to great lengths to get big ticket devices.
Precaution is important,Auto theft is a protection under comprehensive coverage of car insurance. Insurance company are often reluctant to reimburse you. It is advised to pay attention and use plain old common sense when it comes to your vehicle and theft.
Prevent Car Theft with Plain Old Common Sense Tips:
* Park your car in a well-lighted area. At the time you park it may be light, think about what time you will be returning if it will be dark.
* Park your car with the wheels turned sideways all the time. We used to do this on hills so if the car rolled it would not get to far.
* Thefts hate company so you would want to park your car as close to people as you can.
* It really goes without saying but you would truly be surprised to know how many people do not lock their cars when getting out. This also means in your own driveway. Thefts walk through neighborhoods at night taken anything they find in your car.
* A thief may want your car for scrap metal their is big bucks in metal. Making this easy to dispose of the evidence.
* When parking in a lot look for signs that say “Parking lot under Video Surveillance Cameras or 24 Hour surveillance, Security Guards are also a good advantage.
* Criminal Activity is at it high around the holidays so be extra careful.
* NEVER leave anything on in plan site unless you have a diversion safe. Leaving a Pringles Diversion Safe in your car can be a great storage for your MP3 player or small items.
When you plan ahead you will find your personal and vehicle safety will work together.

OMG my daughter would LOVE and could really use the “Pringles Can” idea! Face it, you’re in Walmart shopping and thieves know they generally have some time.. .the look inside the car and see some junk, cans of pringles, and empty soda bottles but no IPhones or IPods, MP3 Players and move on….. when it’s there in HIDDEN sight!!!!! Great idea! I’m definitely sharing this idea with my kids for their cars/trucks!
