The statistics are scary, when it comes to your Personal Safety but so is the good news. Last year two out of three women and six out seven men were not attacked or assaulted and of those victims who were attacked – many were able to fend off their attackers with force, pepper spray, guns or simply by running away.
It’s true, the odds of becoming a victim are high, but the odds of not being a victim are higher – particularly if you take steps to protect yourself.
Your odds against becoming a victim drop dramatically if you use common sense, if you change certain things in your life and your environment and if you’re prepared in case something does happen.
Remember, it is possible to increase your odds of not being attacked. More importantly, it’s possible to help eliminate a lot of the vague fear and to improve your confidence and allow you to have a more positive life – one free or at least freer from fear than it is now.
Your thoughts are what determine your emotions. If you think strong, you’ll feel strong. If you give in to thoughts of fear, you’ll feel fearful. You CAN chose your thoughts! By knowing what the facts are and choosing to think about what you CAN do, what you CAN change and then taking action, you’ll not only FEEL more empowered, you actually WILL be more empowered.
